Six Questions Your Zaxby's Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using our own research into the fast-casual chicken segment. Key assumptions like the $2.47M Year 1 revenue and $18,000 monthly rent are pre-populated with researched data and are fully editable to match your specific site. This model provides a pragmatic look at the unit economics, including the $791,000 Year 1 EBITDA and the path to a $3.98M Year 5 top line.

What is the profitability trajectory?

The model indicates this unit hits its stride early, reaching break-even by March 2026, just three months after the launch. While Year 1 EBITDA is strong at $791,000, the long-term play shows Year 5 revenue climbing to $3.98M as catering and app orders mature. We estimate profitability by calculating net profit after accounting for the 6% royalty, 4% marketing fees, and essential restaurant operating expenses.

Profitability Drivers

  • Optimize catering mix
  • Tighten food waste
  • Control overtime pay
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is required and how is it allocated?

You need a total initial investment that covers the $35,000 franchise fee and significant build-out costs like the $1.25M for leasehold improvements. The model also accounts for $550,000 in kitchen equipment and $350,000 for drive-thru infrastructure to handle high-volume commuter traffic. This franchise business model financial projection spreadsheet ensures you have enough opening cash buffer to handle the -$918,000 minimum cash point.

Major Capital Uses

  • Leasehold Improvements: $1.25M
  • Kitchen Equipment: $550,000
  • Drive-Thru Infrastructure: $350,000
  • Furniture and Fixtures: $220,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the return on investment?

The financial feasibility study for new restaurant franchise shows an IRR of 1.36% and an ROE of 1.8 based on the current projections. While the payback period extends past the five-year mark, the steady climb in EBITDA to $1.18M by Year 5 demonstrates a sustainable long-term margin profile. This franchise ROI calculation helps you understand the balance between high upfront CAPEX and consistent annual cash flow.

Investor Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 1.36%
  • Return on Equity: 1.8
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $1.18M
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even point?

The monthly break-even analysis for franchises suggests you hit the mark in March 2026, assuming you hit your Year 1 revenue target of $2.47M. The biggest driver for this is throughput in the dual-lane drive-thru, which must stay efficient to cover the $18,000 monthly rent and high labor costs. Analyzing profit margins for drive-thru restaurant locations is the key to reaching this point faster.

Break-Even Levers

  • Increase drive-thru speed
  • Boost average ticket
  • Manage food costs
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway and lowest cash point?

Your lowest cash point is -$918,000 in December 2026, which means you need a solid financing plan to bridge the gap during the initial ramp-up. This runway is critical as you wait for the high-margin catering orders and app-based loyalty sales to stabilize your cash flow. To be fair, managing your opening inventory and staffing levels during the first 90 days will be vital for protecting your liquidity.

Cash Flow Actions

  • Phase equipment payments
  • Negotiate rent abatement
  • Monitor inventory levels
[dynamic_pic13]

How do Low, Medium, and High scenarios change the outcome?

A High scenario, driven by strong local marketing and student engagement, can pull forward profitability and boost Year 1 margins significantly. Conversely, a Low scenario with higher labor costs could defintely deepen the peak cash need and delay the payback period further. This fast casual restaurant business plan allows you to toggle these variables to see how they impact your peak cash requirement.

High Case Odds

  • Local school partnerships
  • App loyalty rewards
  • Efficient shift scheduling

Great quality product!
Color: Black, Size: Large
Great product and great fit. I ordered a Large and normally wear a 42 Regular. Jacket was perfect, as was the vest. Pants waist is flexible and fit fine but length needs to be shortened. Overall, I’m impressed with this product! Highly recommended!

Fashion on budget.
Color: Black, Size: Medium
Beautiful, solid material, the texture feels expensive. Only returning because I need 2 sizes down as my son is very slim. Ordering an XS right away.

Class without the price
Size: Large, Color: Burgundy
After purchasing many of the suit offerings on Amazon, Luperty's suit are the best for the price. The adjustable pants makes for a smooth fitting experience, and allow you to breathe when you've clearly eaten to much. The pant length is ideal for a classic suit appearance. If you want a more modern fit you'll have to get them hemmed higher. The vest is form fitting, which is to say not as forgiving as the pants, but will definitely cut a sharper figure. The jacket fits well off the rack for me, albeit the sleeves could be pulled in a bit. I ordered a Large size, which all the pieces fit well for a 5'11", sub 200 lb man. I wouldn't say I'm very in shape, so your milage may very. After buying my first suit from Luperty, I was so impressed that I purchased the rest of the colors as well. My only complaint is that I wish the sleeve lining was more interesting. They all use the same generic white striped fabric. I would have liked to see more variation for each of the different colors. As I have bought all the colors, even the cream color which they no longer offer, I think I can give some insight on which ones work best. 1. Burgundy - This is the best looking one. It's a statement to wear this color of suit. This suit is bold but refined, like a smooth wine. I've gotten the most compliments with this color than any other. It's eye catching and sharp, and you'll feel classy in it. I've actually bought two of these. 2. Dark Grey - This suit is the one you wear to an important board meeting. It's a beautiful charcoal that has a nice sheen to it. A timeless appearance that shows class but muted enough to not take center stage. 3. Cream - Another bold suit, maybe too bold seeing as how they no longer sell it. This suit defines the Miami Vice mafioso look, and it pulls it off nicely. Pairs extremely well with bright pastels. Don't forget to lose the tie and unbutton at least two of the top buttons to get the full effect. 4. Navy Blue - This one's name does it a disservice. The blue is almost at Royal Blue level. The color is definitely striking and can be elevated easily. You might be able to pull this off in a professional setting as well as blue is seen as a more business oriented color, though I believe this is just slightly over the top. However, I like over the top. 5. Light Grey - This one is very light. You wear this one to the same things as the dark grey one, but want to show a bit more character. It strikes me as more of a European color, and maybe that makes it feel more sophisticated. Wearing it with a pocket watch is optional but recommended. 6. Black - This is where we start to decline in color quality. I knows it's black, but I'd like to have seen some more texture, similar to the dark grey. Hopefully you don't have to wear it much given the negative context. 7. Dark Navy - I think I like this one better than the black one, however this one is DARK. I often have to put it right next to my black one to differentiate them, it's that dark. In various lighting you can tell people its a black suit and no one would refute you. Because of this reason I think it's worse than the black. But it makes for the perfect bog standard suit to wear into the office if you need it to. All of these suits are under $100, and often go on sale for less. I cannot recommend them enough for first time suit buyers. As always, remember to open up the vents in the back that are sewn shut, as well as the pockets. As lucky as I am to be able to have these fit almost perfectly, the last step in any suit journey is to have them tailored to you. It might cost as much as this suit, but a $1000 suit off the rack will have nothing on a $100 suit that's been tailored.

Great quality for the price.
Size: Large, Color: Black
All I have to say about this suit is WOW! I lost a good chunk of weight and needed a new suit for an event. Given the price I gave this a shot, and I am really impressed with the quality for the cost. The size is perfect, and the pants are comfortable with an internal elastic that looks and feels nice. The design makes it so the pants don’t slip down with nylon and silk shirts. Looks just as good (if not better) than suits in the $300 price range. I can’t speak for the other colors, but the black suit is exactly what I needed. Let’s see how long the suit lasts!
