Tony’s life has often been on the edge as he explored the world.
His thirst for adventure has taken him off the beaten track, but always as something of an amateur. Adventure can be on your doorstep though! When he became an “Expedition Leader” he did lead several “firsts” and, although he never lost anybody, he has been involved in some very close shaves! His failed parachute and reserve. Just one scary example!
On all his travels, as a scientist, he has always tried to focus on the environment; the impact of tourism, global warming, pollution. He was shocked at what he first saw, 45 years ago. Have things improved? He hopes the reader will also reflect on leadership, management and…education.
He has been described as “probably the most experienced teacher on the planet!” His travels have taken him from Mongolia to Mexico, Ecuador to Nepal where he has climbed mountains, explored……and slipped down rivers in his kayak.
UK exploration has taken him to, seldom seen, hidden gems.
Author biography
Few have had so many careers or led so many expeditions. Hundreds, if not thousands, have followed in his footsteps; up a mountain, in a kayak, on a bike, the football pitch, the Challenge!
