To celebrate the start of a new year, we are delighted to present our limited-edition Rabbit Cufflinks and share the story of how this quick, quiet and elegant character managed to secure its place on the Chinese Zodiac.
Long, long ago, the Jade Emperor invited all animals to compete in a race with the purpose of selecting 12 animals to be his personal guards. The emperor sent an immortal messenger into the land of men with the message that those 12 who finished through the heavenly gates first, would be included in the Zodiac.
The rabbit set off at daybreak, but when he got to the end of the race, no other animals were in sight. Thinking that he would obviously be first, he moved off to the side and to rest and sleep. However, when he woke, three other animals had already arrived and crossed the line making the Rabbit the fourth animal on the Zodiac order.
The quiet personality of the rabbit hides their confidence and strength. They are steadily moving towards their goal and are alert as well as quick and skilful and our handcrafted Sterling Silver Rabbit Cufflinks are a detailed representation of this gentle animal.
These cufflinks have been created by Patrick Jnr to honour these gentle creatures and to commemorate the lucky year of the Rabbit.
