ACT spring retainers utilize wraparound spring windows and thicker retainer stampings to provide spring support, reduce stress concentrations, and increase strength and reliability. Arrow is AIRFLOW direction, not UP install direction
Arrow is AIRFLOW direction, not UP direction. So installation direction might mean arrow of your Purolator filter should be down (true for glove box installs) even if arrow on old filter is up (if it was an UP indication). I wish they mentioned this in product listing, on box, or on side of filter like most brands. Luckily, telephone customer service was super responsive. Otherwise, product is correct size, appears sturdily made.
