Sicily Jass: The World's First Man In Jazz is a film directed by Michele Cinque, about the life, the music, and times of Nick La Rocca, a son of Sicilian immigrants, a self-taught cornet player, and leader of the Original Dixieland Jass Band, the New Orleans based combo which eventually recorded the first jazz record, in New York, in 1917. Moving between fiction and documentary, while travelling from a timeless Sicily through New Orleans past and present, the film follows the infectious rhythms of early jazz and goes deep into an introspective journey narrated by the voice, the gestures and the puppets of Sicilian master Mimmo Cuticchio. Thanks to the special contribution of historians and jazz critics and along with the discovery of precious archive materials, the film will give the audience the chance to re-live both the incredible success and the sad decline of La Rocca and his fellow musicians. The voice of Nick La Rocca himself, caught in a hitherto unpublished interview, together with the intimacy of the tale of Nick's son, Jimmy, will lead the viewer to discover why La Rocca and his men are often forgotten within the official history of jazz. Needless to add that Sicily Jass comes with an amazing soundtrack, curated by Mark Berenford and carefully remastered by Nick Dellow. The accompanying CD features the ODJB's historical 1917 recordings, along with a selection of extra tracks by illustrious contemporaries such as Louis Armstrong Orchestra, Joe Venuti, Bix Beiderbeck & His Gang, Fletcher Henderson and His Orchestra, and Red Nichols 5 Pennies, amazing recordings from the beginning of jazz, over 100 years old. Mark Berenford who also curated the extensive liner notes, is considered one of the most respected experts and most passionate collectors of early jazz and blues. Since 1990, Mr. Berenford has been the editor of Vintage Jazz Mart, the world's leading means for buying and selling rare jazz and blues 78s. DVD is PAL format, region free.

🦴 Micro Bone, Major Relief; Perfect Puppy Teething Chew Toy

Nylabone Puppy Treat Starter Pack - A Mixed Bag of Delight and Disappointment

I recently purchased the Nylabone Puppy Treat Starter Pack for my adorable 5lb puppy, and overall, I have mixed feelings about this product. While I was initially satisfied with the variety pack, one of the bones in particular left me disappointed due to its lack of durability.
Let's start with the positives. The Nylabone Puppy Treat Starter Pack comes with three different toys: a blue puppy teething toy, a nylon dog toy, and a chew treat. This variety is great for keeping my puppy engaged and entertained, especially during the teething phase. The blue puppy teething toy is specifically designed for soothing sore gums, and my puppy seemed to find great relief when chewing on it. It has a pleasant texture that is gentle on the teeth and gums, making it an ideal choice for teething puppies.
The nylon dog toy included in the pack is durable and sturdy. It has a satisfyingly textured surface that provides an excellent chewing experience for my little furry friend. The toy is designed to withstand the strong chewing habits of puppies, and it has certainly proven to be long-lasting compared to other toys I've tried in the past. My puppy enjoys gnawing on it for extended periods without any signs of damage.
Now, let's address the bone that failed to meet expectations. One of the bones included in the pack was devoured by my puppy within a single evening. I was taken aback by how quickly it was consumed, especially considering my puppy's small size. While the other bones in the pack held up well, this particular one lacked the durability I had hoped for. I understand that puppies have strong jaws, but I expected the bone to withstand more than a few hours of chewing.
Despite this disappointment, I must mention that the bone did not cause any harm to my puppy. It is important to supervise your puppy while they chew on any toys, especially if they have a tendency to swallow large chunks. In this case, I was fortunate that my puppy did not experience any adverse effects after consuming the bone. However, it's crucial to exercise caution and ensure that your puppy doesn't ingest anything that could potentially be harmful.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for teething puppies

I purchased the Nylabone puppy chew toys for my teething puppy, and they’ve been a big help. The toys are the perfect size for a young puppy and feel durable without being too hard.
My puppy enjoys chewing on them, and they’ve helped redirect chewing away from furniture and shoes. I also like that they’re designed specifically for puppies, so they’re gentle enough for growing teeth and gums.
The variety in the set keeps my puppy interested, and the toys have held up well with daily use. They’re easy to clean and feel safe to give to a puppy.
