🔎 Provenance Story

This exceptional Ercol Grand Windsor dining table has remained with one family since it was purchased new in the early 1960s from a showroom in Cheltenham. It was a centrepiece in their oak-floored dining room, selected not just for its style, but for its practicality — a table to grow with a young family and host everything from quiet weekday meals to joyful holiday feasts.

The fifth central leg was praised by the original owner for "never wobbling, even with the turkey and trifle on top," and the extension leaf was used for every family celebration. Over time, the elm top developed a subtle warmth, aged naturally by sunlight and care, while the solid beech legs remained sturdy and true.

We acquired the piece directly from the family, who had lovingly maintained it for over 60 years. After a gentle clean and nourishing wax, it now stands ready for a new chapter. This is not just a dining table — it’s part of Ercol’s design legacy, made to last and to live with.
