KECO K-Tip Kit | Stainless Steel Tip with 3 Plastic Caps for Paintless Dent Repair

The KECO K-Tip Kit is a must-have for paintless dent repair (PDR) professionals who want to improve control and protect vehicle finishes during pushing and knocking down dents. This kit includes one high-quality stainless steel K-Tip combined with three interchangeable plastic caps designed to adapt your tool to different dent sizes and panel conditions.

Crafted with precision and durability in mind, the KECO K-Tip stainless steel tip offers outstanding strength and rigidity, providing direct and powerful pushing force when you need it most. The three plastic caps fit snugly over the stainless tip, allowing you to adjust softness, protect paint finishes, and fine-tune your technique for every job.

What’s Included

  • One Stainless Steel K-Tip: The core pushing or knockdown tip, built tough for long-lasting performance

  • Three Plastic Caps: Sized for different applications, these caps cover the stainless tip to provide a soft or medium surface that prevents paint damage and improves control

The Role of the Stainless Steel K-Tip

The stainless steel tip in the KECO K-Tip Kit is designed to deliver consistent, powerful contact with the dent metal. Made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, this tip maintains its shape and strength through repeated use on steel, aluminum, and composite panels.

This tip offers:

  • Durability: Resistant to wear, chipping, and corrosion, even in demanding shop environments

  • Precision: The rigid construction lets you push metal efficiently without tip flex, giving better control over metal flow

  • Versatility: Suitable for detailed dents, creases, and areas where firm contact is necessary for effective repair

Purpose and Benefits of the Plastic Caps

The three plastic caps included in the KECO K-Tip Kit provide essential customization to the pushing surface. Each cap varies slightly in size and thickness, giving you options to adapt based on the panel material, paint condition, and dent characteristics.

Using caps helps:

  • Protect paint finishes: The caps cushion the tip’s contact with delicate OEM paint, minimizing scratches, marring, or clear coat damage

  • Control force application: Caps soften or moderate the push force, helping prevent over-pushing and reducing risk of panel distortion

  • Extend tip life: Plastic caps absorb some impact wear, preserving the integrity of the stainless steel tip underneath

  • Adapt quickly: Swap caps on the job to change pushing hardness and surface area without needing to change tools entirely

How to Choose the Right Cap for Your Job

Selecting the appropriate plastic cap depends on the repair specifics:

  • Larger, thicker caps: Use these on softer or painted panels where a gentle push is required to avoid surface damage

  • Smaller, thinner caps: Ideal for tight dents and creases where precise, firmer pushing is needed

  • No cap: For maximum force and direct metal contact, such as stubborn or deep dents where paint is less of a concern

Having three caps gives you flexibility to respond to varying dent repair challenges, increasing your efficiency and results.

Compatibility and Ease of Use

The KECO K-Tip stainless steel tip is threaded to fit standard 5/16-18 PDR tools, ensuring broad compatibility with:

  • Knockdown tools

  • Push rods

  • Slide hammers

  • Other PDR accessory tips

The plastic caps slide easily over the tip and stay secure during use, while being quick to remove or swap. This modular design helps you adapt your tools instantly without interrupting workflow.

Material and Build Quality

  • Stainless Steel Tip: Crafted from high-grade stainless steel, it resists rust and damage, maintaining a clean surface for optimal pushing force. The tip is precisely machined for smooth edges and reliable performance.

  • Plastic Caps: Made from durable polymers designed to withstand impact and wear while providing a gentle interface with painted surfaces. Their slightly flexible nature helps absorb impact energy and reduces marring risks.

Practical Application Tips

  • Start with the largest cap for delicate paint or soft panels. Test your pushing force to avoid over-pushing or paint damage.

  • Switch to smaller caps for more precise pushing on hard dents or creases.

  • Remove caps entirely for maximum push force in stubborn repairs where paint integrity is less at risk.

  • Keep caps and tip clean after every job. Remove glue residue and dirt to maintain smooth contact and prevent damage to both tool and panel.

  • Replace caps when worn or cracked. Regular inspection helps maintain consistent repair quality.

Why Choose the KECO K-Tip Kit?

This kit combines the strength of stainless steel with the versatility of plastic caps to give PDR techs a customizable tool setup for any pushing or knocking down job. It reduces paint damage risk and improves repair precision, speeding up jobs and enhancing final results.

The modular nature of the kit lets you keep one core tool while tailoring your pushing surface instantly to the job at hand. This flexibility improves workflow, reduces downtime, and protects your investment in premium PDR tools.

Maintenance and Care

  • Clean the stainless steel tip with a soft cloth and mild detergent after use.

  • Wipe plastic caps gently to remove glue and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals.

  • Store caps and tips in a dry, shaded area to prevent warping or corrosion.

  • Inspect caps regularly and replace as needed to avoid damage to vehicle finishes.

Summary

The KECO K-Tip Kit with one stainless steel tip and three plastic caps is designed for professional PDR technicians who want precision control, paint-safe pushing, and tool versatility. Combining durable stainless steel strength with adaptable soft caps, this kit fits most standard threaded tools and helps achieve superior dent repair results while protecting automotive finishes.

The Best Narrative about the Real Camino
Format: Kindle
I have read many, many books about the Camino de Santiago and this is by far the best. It is so clearly written that I felt myself walking along with John Pearson. His description of every aspect of the Way is accurate and wonderful to read. I only walked the last 100 km, but feel now like I walked the whole way and enjoyed it without the blisters! If I were younger, I would definitely walk the entire way but am so glad John wrote his experience so that I at least can imagine what it was like. Thank you for the Most Excellent Book!

Finding God every 20 Miles
Format: Paperback
What an enriching experience it was to read John's journey on the Camino de Santiago! By the third day of reading John's experiences on the Camino, I realized how much I was looking forward to reading another chapter or two after dinner with my family. After reading his chapter entitled "The Whale in the Room," I was so moved that I shared what I'd read with my wife, Cathy and son, Alex and told them how blessed I was to have them safe and near me. What a magnificent allegory of life that the Camino de Santiago is for so many peregrinos! Thank you John for letting me walk nearly 500 miles in your Merrell Moab "moccasins!" And forgive me for earmarking a few pages along the way, I want to re-read those key pages with your wisdom until the end of my Camino on this earth. Buen vida y buen Camino Peregrino!

Insightful and off-putting
Format: Paperback
My husband and I are planning on walking the last 62 miles of the Camino. We are not going to be "real" pilgrims so I wanted to read books that would help me understand the experience. John Pearson did a good job of taking the reader along on his pilgrimage. But as a female who remembers how distasteful it was for old men to notice her, I couldn't understand the purpose of the descriptions of the physical appearance of the women he met. For readers wanting a taste of the journey, what did it add to include the description of a tattoo on the edge of a woman's breast and how many men were looking at it. So much of the book was thoughtful and deep and then all of a sudden there was a description of a woman as an object. Men looking at women is not news so it felt odd that the author added that detail throughout the book. If you are not bothered by the author's need to share his observation of women and how much wine he drank, it is an otherwise worthy telling of one man's epic journey on the Camino.

fascinating Memoir of Walking the Camino de Santiago
Format: Kindle
I very much enjoyed reading this memoir. I’m in my mid-70s and have been considering it. Wish I had known about it when I was younger. Pearson described lots of the nitty-gritty details of the challenges and triumphs of the Camino.

The best on the subject since LDD3
Format: Paperback
I found this book as impacting me as LDD (by Rubini etc) has been in its days, a de-facto standard established to the point that people keep searching for LDD4/LDD5 to these days, that much desirable. Since LDD3 the last update on 2.6, this book (as well as kernel debugging and hands-on systems programming) is a valuable source of information for modern kernels 5 and 6 for a few years to come. Knowledgeable and easy to follow, captivating attention to keep on reading it through, impressive for a technical book. LDD4+ has now found reincarnated, thank you very much for all the effort composing it!
