Six Questions Your Relax The Back Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using detailed research into premium wellness retail operations. Key assumptions like the $1.3M year-one revenue target and the $394,500 initial CAPEX are pre-populated but fully editable to match your specific territory. With a projected 2-year payback and a 7.87% IRR, the model provides a realistic roadmap for navigating high-ticket sales cycles and specialized staffing needs.

When does the unit turn a profit?

You can expect this unit to reach monthly break-even by March 2026, just three months after launch. Year-one EBITDA is projected at $436,000, which is strong for a retail startup, though it dips slightly in year two as you scale the wellness consultant team. The model accounts for the 9% total royalty and marketing burden while maintaining healthy margins through high-ticket items like Zero Gravity seating.

Boost Unit Margins

  • Optimize consultant scheduling
  • Increase high-margin accessory sales
  • Leverage medical referral networks
[dynamic_pic9]

What is the total investment?

To get the doors open, you will need approximately $394,500 in initial capital, not including your opening inventory and working capital buffer. The largest outlays are the $175,000 for leasehold improvements and $60,000 for showroom fixtures to meet brand standards. The model shows a minimum cash requirement of $916,000 to safely navigate the ramp-up period through May 2026.

Primary Capital Uses

  • Leasehold Improvements: $175,000
  • Showroom Fixtures: $60,000
  • Delivery Vehicle: $50,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What are the investor returns?

The model projects an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 7.87% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 1.88 over the five-year period. Most importantly for cash-conscious owners, the total payback period is just 2 years. This assumes you hit the $1.3M revenue target in year one and manage the $12,000 monthly rent effectively.

Key Return Metrics

  • 2-year payback period
  • 7.87% IRR
  • $517k Year-5 EBITDA
[dynamic_pic11]

Where is the break-even line?

You need to hit break-even by March 2026 to stay on track with the 2-year payback plan. The primary driver for break-even is sales volume of high-ticket items like Tempur-Pedic products, which are slated for $250,000 in year-one sales. With fixed costs at nearly $20,000 a month, maintaining a high average ticket is more critical than pure foot traffic.

Speed Up Break-Even

  • Pre-sell to referral networks
  • Minimize pre-opening labor
  • Negotiate rent abatement
[dynamic_pic12]

How much runway is needed?

Your lowest cash point occurs in May 2026, about two months after the main revenue streams launch. The model suggests a minimum cash position of $916,000 to handle the gap between the $394,500 build-out and the ramp-up of sales. If your leasehold improvements run 20% over budget, that cash buffer becomes your most important asset.

Protect Your Cash

  • Phase demo equipment buys
  • Manage inventory tightly
  • Use contract delivery initially
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios impact results?

In a low-revenue scenario, your break-even could push past mid-2026, significantly increasing your peak cash need. The high scenario, driven by strong local marketing and medical referrals, could see year-one EBITDA exceed $500,000. Because 9% of revenue goes to the franchisor regardless of profit, the difference between a medium and high case is almost entirely found in how you manage your $230,000 plus annual payroll.

Hit the High Case

  • Drive local referral partnerships
  • Maximize 'White Glove' upsells
  • Train consultants on conversion

  • Staffing and payroll inputs
  • Operating expense categories

Plan for Long-Term Growth

The model projects revenue scaling from $1.3 million in year one to over $2 million by year five, accounting for market maturation and repeat referral business. You get a clear view of how cash flow evolves as you move from a single-unit startup to a stabilized wellness destination.

  • 5-year revenue forecasts
  • Profit and cash flow projections
  • Balance sheet view
  • Long-term profitability analysis

Track Ongoing Brand Obligations

Operating within a system means accounting for the 5% royalty and 4% marketing fee off the top. This model calculates these costs automatically based on your monthly sales, ensuring you see the true store-level margin after brand contributions. It defintely helps to see how $117,000 in annual fees at $1.3M revenue impacts your ability to cover local fixed costs like rent and specialized labor.

  • Initial franchise fee inputs
  • Royalty expense calculations
  • Marketing fund contributions
  • Ongoing franchise cost tracking

Calculate Initial Capital Needs

Launching a premium showroom requires significant upfront capital, including $175,000 for leasehold improvements and $60,000 for fixtures. This retail franchise business plan identifies exactly when you hit the break-even point-estimated at month three-based on your fixed overhead of roughly $19,200 per month. Knowing your daily sales target to cover these costs is the difference between a stressed owner and a confident operator.

  • Total startup investment
  • Fixed and variable cost analysis
  • Break-even sales estimates
  • Margin and contribution view

Validate with Industry Standards

Use built-in benchmarks to see if your 13% inventory cost or 9% total franchise fees align with high-end retail norms. The model allows you to sanity-check your wellness consultant staffing levels against projected traffic. If your labor-to-revenue ratio drifts too high, the model flags it, helping you maintain the store-level EBITDA margins needed for a healthy return.

  • Occupancy cost benchmarks
  • Gross margin ranges

TECKNET Wireless Mouse, 2.4G Ergonomic Optical Mouse
Color: Purple
Worked right out of the box! I purchased TWO because I am always knocking it to the floor, which is why I believe my original one (designed just like this one, same color, (my favorite color), different company, G*** H***), stopped working properly, and the fact that I was starting to change the batteries about once every two weeks! There are some subtle differences from my previous mouse, like, the wheel light is not as bright, and the light on the bottom doesn't seem to light up, unless it does, only when the mouse is in motion, on a flat surface. Anyway, so far, so good! I would recommend!

Grab yourself a bargain!
Color: Purple
For those unfamiliar with Tecknet products, brace yourself to be amazed! This multipurpose mouse is an excellent purchase for all. Are you looking to get rid of your annoying wired mice? Look no further, you won't have to waste space anymore for that wire going across your desk. This wireless mouse is especially useful for notebook users, since it is lightweight allowing you to stay flexible on the go with ease. There are 6 buttons on this mouse which are all conveniently placed and it feels comfortable even after long time use. Tested and fully compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10. And yes, it works on Linux too (tested on Ubuntu). The response time is swift: there is no lagging observed. Overall, an excellent value for money and also great in terms of quality. Goes perfectly with a Tecknet mouse pad. For the more Technical users: This mouse is capable up to a 2400 DPI setting which is perfect for most users, however if you are a pro gamer for instance and need more than that, try one of the gaming mice from Tecknet, you won't be disappointed. I also own a HYPERBOLT which is capable up to 16400 DPI and has 13 Assignable Buttons.

Easily connected, good quality, great value
Color: Purple
This is a well made, quality product. Its fast or slow depending on how you set it up. I have dropped mine at least a dozen times. No not on purpose. I am partially paralyzed and my fingers basically work but they are numb. I tend to drop things. It looks great. The lighting is sufficient. It is gamer friendly. The scrolls easily. It's a great value for the money. It has sleep-mode.

I Love The Logitech MX Master 4 Mouse
Color: Graphite, Pattern Name: Mouse, Color: Graphite, Pattern Name: Mouse
I keep buying Logitech mice because they are a great product. The mouse fits perfectly under my right hand. Very comfortable with no ergonomic issues. The scroll wheel also works perfectly and can be adjusted to be click free. The mouse instantly connected to my HP Laptop computer via the USB C dongle. The Logitech mouse is very durable and well made. The mouse isn't cheap but I feel it delivers value for the money. My previous mouse was the Logitech MX Master mouse which is still running strong however, I gave it to my wife to use at work with a Logitech keyboard. The only downside is that the dongle is not unifying so you can't connect a keyboard and a mouse through one dongle like the previous generation "unifying" receiver. UPDATE Continue to love this mouse. The feel, weight, and touch are magnificent. For me though I found the haptic feature annoying. I kept clicking it up when I didn't want the feature activated. So I turned it off! Yes you can turn it off in the Logi+ App for those of you who feel as I do. UPDATE 2 Although the Haptic feature is turned off in the app (See screenshot), the haptic feature keeps occurring. I keep activating it with my thumb which is annoying. I guess I will have to train myself to exert less pressure on my thumb to avoid doing this.

Absolute Game-Changer
Color: Graphite, Pattern Name: Mouse
First thing: don't expect this mouse to change your workflow out of the box. You will need to tailor it to your use-case using the Logi-Options+ software. That said, this mouse has completely changed how I interact with my tasks. My workflow used to include dragging the mouse pointer, entering sub-menus, navigating different UI's, using the keyboard, rinse and repeat. Now, all of that is condensed to clicks and subtle flicks of the mouse. What used to take an hour in my workflow takes 15 minutes now. The haptics are really nice. I'm a tactile person, so getting feedback similar to a game controller is a really good data point for my brain. Battery life is excellent, considering all of the features. Big thumbs-up for being rechargeable via USB-C. Build quality seems pretty excellent. I will warn that it is heavier than average, though I think this is balanced by the fact that you'll be moving your mouse far less once configured to your liking. The context wheel is an incredible addition. Again, it adds actions that simplify navigation to a single hand's input. I consider the convenience added to be comparable to that of a Stream Deck. The Context Wheel also considers which program you are interacting with, and you can customize it for every individual program in wour workflow. The keyword here is customization. Every. Single. Program. You can have a totally different button layout for all of them, and it switches on the fly. You can also have it work for multiple PCs, switching between them with a manual switch on the bottom of the mouse, up to 3 units. Further, you can use Logi-Options+ on each PC to link them together, and the mouse can actively travel between the screens of each PC, enabling dragging and dropping of files. For someone who grew up in the 90's, it feels like sorcery; like it shouldn't be so easy to set up something like that. If anything ever happens to this mouse, I'll buy another same-day. There's no going back for me now. This is the only way I want to interact with my systems.
