Climate Shock: The Economic Consequences of a Hotter PlanetHow knowing the extreme risks of climate change can help us prepare for an uncertain future If you had a 10 percent chance of having a fatal car accident, you'd take necessary precautions. How knowing the extreme risks of climate change can help us prepare for an uncertain future

If you had a 10 percent chance of having a fatal car accident, you'd take necessary precautions. If your finances had a 10 percent chance of suffering a severe loss, you'd reevaluate your assets. So if we know the world is warming and there's a 10 percent chance this might eventually lead to a catastrophe beyond anything we could imagine, why aren't we doing more about climate change right now? We insure our lives against an uncertain future--why not our planet?

In Climate Shock, Gernot Wagner and Martin Weitzman explore in lively, clear terms the likely repercussions of a hotter planet, drawing on and expanding from work previously unavailable to general audiences. They show that the longer we wait to act, the more likely an extreme event will happen. A city might go underwater. A rogue nation might shoot particles into the Earth's atmosphere, geoengineering cooler temperatures. Zeroing in on the unknown extreme risks that may yet dwarf all else, the authors look at how economic forces that make sensible climate policies difficult to enact, make radical would-be fixes like geoengineering all the more probable. What we know about climate change is alarming enough. What we don't know about the extreme risks could be far more dangerous. Wagner and Weitzman help readers understand that we need to think about climate change in the same way that we think about insurance--as a risk management problem, only here on a global scale.

With a new preface addressing recent developments Wagner and Weitzman demonstrate that climate change can and should be dealt with--and what could happen if we don't do so--tackling the defining environmental and public policy issue of our time.

Serves purpose and holds what it was intended to
Color: 2 Tier-Black, Color: 2 Tier-Black
I like it. Keeps things organized and handy in small kitchen. The attachable bin holding my brushes I put on outside of unit not inside as company pics show it. That bin only has one clip to hold it in place. This makes it a little wobbly if you want to place it on the outside like I did. I used 2 trash bag twisties to help tighten it into place. Doing this made it no longer lose and the inside area space larger to hold both of my soaps. Fits everything I need it to. I appreciated the little lever on bottom that moves for water drainage. My sink design doesn’t work for the other drainage design I found these to have online.

My new kitchen favorite!!! Looks just like picture!
Color: 2 Tier-Black
Love this, looks just like picture. Fits perfect by my sink and the drain spout positions right into sink. Holds quite a few things. A kitchen must have! Well made, stays put, easy to rinse when needed and my room mate loved it too!

Great sink organizer
Color: 1 Tier-Black, Color: 1 Tier-Black
I've been searching seems like forever for something to make my kitchen sink look more organized and this caddy solves my problem!! I found a different use for the basket that holds a scrub brush since I don't use one of those. Nice design that fits my kitchen objects and no worries about removing a tray to empty water out. I used the adhesive holder to attach it to the wall behind the sink but one corner is peeling off, causing the basket to hand on that side. :( It would have been nice to have a replacement for that, but overall I'm pretty impressed with this thing!!

Worth every penny!!
Color: Black
This kitchen sink caddy was exactly what I wanted. It's well made and small enough to fit on my new sink. It holds soap, dish rag or small sponge, drain stopper, and my two scrub brushes. Looks good, too
