solid wood, well designed and easy to put together. A few of the back pieces were bowed but thats what you get with wood and it all went together just fine, can't even tell. They are unfinished, but ready for stain or poly Its not often I am pleased with furniture off of Amazon but I will be ordering a few more of these.
