James is a contemporary artist. His other talent is that he has a rich knowledge of languagesÑ Chinese, both the modern tongue and the classical language, as well as Japanese, both modern and medieval, plus the languages of Western Europe. He made the discovery of the profundity and the philosophy of the Buddha teaching of Nichiren Daish_nin. Over the last thirty years, he has translated NichirenÕs writings. The Buddha teaching of Nichiren is an all-embracing subject, which I have seriously studied in depth, only to find that it is a real treasure. It is capable of bringing about world peace, as well as individual happiness.
