Ruby studied sculpture and worked at the BBC before embarking on a career in picture books. Her work has been published by Dorling Kindersley, Flying Eye, Rocket Bird, Andersen Press and Design for Today. She tries to draw from life every day and has twice been shortlisted for the Shirley Hughes Sketchbook Award. Ruby regularly makes riso prints, and riso has influenced her picture book work.
