The Lost Rocks: The Dare Stones and the Unsolved Mystery of Sir Walter Raleigh's Lost ColonyWhat if the 1587 Lost Colony of Roanoke was not lost? What if the 1587 Lost Colony of Roanoke was not lost? What if the survivors left Roanoke Island, North Carolina and found their way to Georgia? That is the scenario scholars contemplated when a series of engraved stones were found in the 1930's. The first, found near the Chowan River in North Carolina, claimed that Eleanor Dare and six other settlers had survived a horrible Indian attack which wiped out the rest of the colony. Among the dead were Eleanor's daughter, Virginia Dare, the first English child born in North America, and Eleanor's husband Ananias. The remaining Dare Stones, more than forty in number, told a fantastic tale of how Eleanor and the survivors made their way overland, first to South Carolina, and then to Georgia. If true, North Carolina stood to lose one of its most cherished historical legends. Author David La Vere weaves the story of the Dare Stones with that of the Lost Colony of Roanoke in a tale that will fire your imagination and give you pause at the same time. In this true story that shook the world during the 1930s and early 1940s, the question on everyone's mind was: Had the greatest mystery in American history -- the Lost Colony -- finally been solved?

Updated: not worth it. Disappointed!
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
Update: since I wrote my first review, I have to revise it. My puppy has chewed through the rubber case that surrounds the ball mechanism. I literally watched her chew through two sections in under a minute. I had to take it away from her and she’s so upset. I’m disappointed as it was a great distraction toy. Now it’s trash. Absolutely the best interactive dog toy. My 5 1/2 month old puppy loves this toy. It’s the perfect size for her. She rolls and chews on it happily. Unfortunately she also figured out how to remove the cover, the Velcro is not strong enough, but I’m fine with that. It kept her occupied for over 25 minutes after I gave it to her. It looks well made and additional extra ball cover was a surprise. It was worth the price. We live in an apartment and unfortunately when it’s turned it make a little noise on the tile floor, I just hope my downstairs neighbor doesn’t get upset.

Fun ball for the pup
Color: Blue
My pup loves this ball, keeps her entertained for a long time. I like the feature of stopping and then starting again when she decides to return and play. Rubber cover is perfect for playing on our lvp floors without excessive noise

Labrador Retriever Fun Toy
Color: Yellow
Excellent for older Labrador Retriever with a soft mouth. 2 levels of movements. Colorful. Recharge quickly too, cable included. 2 velcro type covers. Fairly chew resistant, watch your dog, as with any toy! Good size, no worries about my Labrador swallowing it!

Great engaging toy for my border collie
Color: Blue
I have an 8 yr old border collie with an injured rear hock, so she can't chase the Frisbee any longer. This toy, when set on high, kicks her hunting instincts in, and she chases it, brings it back, and keeps it between her paws until it activates *or she bumps it). The plastic 'holey' covering let's her get a good grip on it, and it is a little larger than a baseball. Good quality plastic/soft rubber covering. It charges quickly, and has unpredictable jumps and rolls unlike some others that just run on 1 track. She would play with it all day if I let her. She brings it to me to play with her, but it doesn't really need a human's intervention. A tooth will occasionally hit the small control and turn it off, but no concerns about it falling apart or her ripping it apart. Highly recomment
