The Samson S-zone is a compact, high-performance mixer designed for professional installations that require precise, scalable audio distribution across up to four zones. Engineered for installers who demand reliability in a single-rack, 1U footprint, the S-zone brings together flexible input options and intuitive front-panel controls to simplify complex routing tasks. With two balanced microphone inputs and four balanced aux/line inputs, this mixer makes it easy to blend live mic signals with line sources and route them to dedicated output zones, delivering consistent sound quality in retail spaces, corporate environments, classrooms, hospitality venues, houses of worship, and more. This description blends the key strengths highlighted in official materials and widely used industry descriptions to underscore how the S-zone can reduce setup time, streamline maintenance, and ensure dependable audio across multiple zones.

  • Flexible input architecture: The S-zone offers two balanced microphone inputs and four balanced aux/line inputs, providing a versatile foundation for corporate announcements, background music, and line-level sources. The front-panel control section allows you to assign any of the four inputs to any of the four zones, enabling quick reconfiguration as room layouts or AV needs evolve. This flexible routing reduces the number of devices required in a given installation and simplifies ongoing adjustments without sacrificing audio clarity or control precision.
  • Four-zone management: Designed to support multi-zone environments, the S-zone makes it possible to distribute or isolate audio across four independent zones. This capability is ideal for retail storefronts with separate listening areas, conference rooms that require distinct audio feeds, or hospitality setups where different zones demand tailored levels and source selections. The board’s architecture ensures consistent performance across zones while keeping the user experience straightforward for technicians and facility managers alike.
  • Compact 1U rack-mount design: The S-zone is purpose-built for installer-friendly installation in a single rack space. Its compact form factor minimizes rack space while preserving signal integrity and quiet operation, making it a natural fit for centralized AV racks in offices, hotels, and education facilities. The slim profile also simplifies cable management and service access, helping technicians complete deployments quickly and with minimal disruption to occupied spaces.
  • Front-panel control for rapid routing: A dedicated front-panel section provides intuitive controls to assign inputs to zones, adjust level relationships, and fine-tune the mix on the fly. This design prioritizes hands-on control, letting technicians respond rapidly to changing room acoustics, audience size, or presentation needs without navigating multiple menus or external processors. By reducing the number of steps required to re-route signals, the S-zone accelerates commissioning and enables on-site adjustments during events or daily operations.
  • Ideal for professional installations: Whether installed in a retail environment, a corporate training room, or a hospitality venue, the S-zone’s balance of simplicity and capability helps ensure reliable performance. Its robust input options, zone-based routing, and rack-friendly form factor align with industry best practices for scalable audio systems. By delivering clean signal paths and flexible control, the S-zone helps you meet evolving audio requirements while maintaining a clean, low-friction workflow for operators and technicians.

How to install Samson S-zone

Installing the S-zone is a straightforward process that prioritizes reliable signal routing and ease of use. Begin by planning your zone layout and sourcing plan to determine which inputs will feed which zones. Mount the unit in an appropriate 19-inch rack within reach of the main control console and audio rack, ensuring adequate ventilation to prevent thermal buildup during long operation periods. Connect the two balanced microphone sources to the dedicated mic inputs using balanced cables to minimize noise and interference. Attach the four balanced aux/line inputs to your external sources—such as CD players, computers, or distributed music players—using shielded, balanced connections where possible to preserve signal integrity. After all sources are connected, use the front-panel routing controls to assign each input to its intended zone according to your room geometry and audio goals.

Power up the system and verification step. Confirm that each zone receives the correct source and that level controls respond smoothly without distortion. Use a test signal or a quiet voice to calibrate the gain staging for microphones and line inputs, ensuring a comfortable listening level across all zones. If your installation includes a centralized control system or a simple volume automation that interacts with the S-zone, integrate those elements at this stage to synchronize overall loudness with other AV components. Finally, run a full room test, listening across all zones with typical content to confirm that the routing is correct, the sound is balanced, and the user interface allows operators to adapt quickly to changes in occupancy or presentation content.

Maintenance and adjustments are easy with the S-zone. Periodically inspect cable connections for signs of wear or looseness and verify that front-panel controls remain responsive. If you expand or reconfigure the space, you can reassign inputs to zones using the same front-panel controls, preserving the original sound quality while accommodating new microphones, line sources, or listening areas. The S-zone’s design focuses on stability and adaptability, so you can trust it to perform consistently across daily operations and high-pressure events alike.

In summary, the Samson S-zone offers a practical blend of capability and simplicity for multi-zone audio management. It’s a smart choice for installers who want robust, flexible routing in a compact, rack-friendly package, backed by the brand’s reputation for reliable audio gear. With its dual mic inputs, quartet of line inputs, and a powerful front-panel routing section, the S-zone helps you create scalable, high-quality sound environments without overcomplicating the installation or daily operation.

Good value, soft and comfortable
Color: Black, Army Green, Light Gray, Size: 4X-Large, Color: Black, Army Green, Light Gray, Size: 4X-Large
Initial thoughts are very positive with this 3 pack shirt set. The green is similar to an OD military green and the black and gray are standard color shades. Material is soft and sizes are true to size. The mock turtleneck isn’t too tight but may still be a little annoying to some people. I do question the amount of spandex in these shirts. Tag says 5% but these shirts are extremely stretchy and feels like a higher spandex content. It’s also a little tough to figure out which way is the front of the shirt. Visually rhe front does have a lower collar line than the back but would still be nice to have a brand tag printed in the back of the shirt for quicker identification. Overall for roughly $12 a shirt these are a good choice for everyday wear. I will update rating if these shirts fail to meet expectations after further use.

Just what I wanted.
Color: Black, Navy Blue, Wine Red, Size: 5X-Large
These may have just become my standard shirt to wear. Feels good whether tucked or out. Drapes well and fits well. So far, I can see it adjust to the different undershirt I may wear. Will probably order another set in other colors and a back up set of the basics because they will get worn a lot.

Its alright
Color: Black, Size: 5X-Large
True to size per the size chart. The fabric is soft but it it feels cheap to me. It attracts lint but you can brush it off easily so its not the cheapest material I've dealt with. Also, it is opaque (not see through). There is no front/ back indicator either which is indicative of a cheap shirt in my opinion. Would be friendly for tag sensitive people (to stay positive).
