A Nice, Large 95 mm Diameter, Rare, Silky Purple Stichtite and Green Serpentine Large Sphere. (Rose Wood Stand, Included.) Mostly Purple with really nice contrasting Green Serpentine in Island Patterns. Slight Chatoyancy to the Purple Stichtite threads running through it. Rare Item.
Very few Balls were made from this rare material and 95mm is actually quite a large Sphere for this species of Gemstone. This comes from the, very Geologically interesting, Barberton Greenbelt , one of the oldest surface areas still in the same place from over 3 billion years of tectonic plates moving (there are only a couple of places in the World that have been stable for Earths whole history) but it is quite a well mineralised region. Stichtite is only found in Barberton, South Africa and Tasmania
