Fitting and handling
Allow the boards to acclimatise on site for at least 48 hours before installation, stacking them flat with spacers to allow air circulation on all faces. Fix through the tongue using stainless steel or A4-grade screws to allow for any residual movement and to keep fixings concealed within the profile. Although thermowood has good natural resistance to moisture, applying a UV-protective oil or finish is recommended to retain the warm brown colour and prevent premature surface greying.

Thermowood is modified by heat and steam rather than chemical preservatives. The process reduces the timber's moisture content and alters the cell structure, improving dimensional stability and resistance to decay without introducing chemicals.
