Omega-3 fatty acids, from flaxseed oil or fish oil, are healthy fatty acids that cannot be manufactured in the body and must be consumed in our diets, which is why they are called “essential” fatty acids. Adults and children require fatty acids called EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) for overall physical, emotional and mental health.
