Kräuterberg Spätburgunder 2019 

Met 79% rode druivenrassen heeft de Ahr het hoogste percentage rode wijn van alle Duitse wijnbouwgebieden. Ongeveer 2/3 van de wijngaarden zijn beplant met Spätburgunder. Kraüterberg is één van de mooiste wijnbergen in de Ahr. Deze bijzondere appelatie geeft volle en krachtige Spätburgunders; aards, krachtig, zacht en complex.

Flutwein

Midden juli 2021 trok een enorm hevig gebied met zware regenval over het westen van Duitsland. Vooral Rijnland-Palts en Noordrijn-Westfalen werden getroffen, maar ook de buurlanden Nederland (Valkenburg…) en België. Veel kleine beekjes veranderden in kolkende waterstromen die complete dorpen aan de Ahr en aan andere rivieren verwoestten. In het Ahrdal steeg het water bijna 7 meter. Grote delen van het dal werden verwoest; de complete infrastructuur, woningen, hotels, winkels, bruggen en spoorlijn etc. liepen onvoorstelbare schade op. 135 Mensen kwamen om het leven.

Ook wijnproducenten in het Ahrdal hadden veelal niets meer; ondergelopen wijnhuizen, kelders, wijnopslagplaatsen en vernielde machines. De wijnvaten en flessen die teruggevonden werden zaten bedekt onder een flinke laag modder.Met veel hulp van vrijwilligers is hiervan zo veel mogelijk schoongemaakt.

Deze flessen (met beschadigde etiketten) werden verkocht als “Flutwein”. Om alle getroffen wijnboeren te steunen. De wijn is goed bewaard gebleven en is bijzonder en krachtig. Net zoals het wijngebied en zijn inwoners.
