If you've ever looked for a "workhorse" acoustic, there's no better place to look than "The Workhorse" itself and the Epiphone 1942 Banner J-45 Reissue Left-Handed. Following in the path laid by Gibson's 1942 J-45, today's Epiphone 1942 Banner Reissue J-45 embodies all the spirit of one of the acoustic guitar world's most beloved and coveted models. An all-business musical machine, the J-45 inspired countless player over the years and this Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom model is sure to be no different.

The 1942 Banner J-45 Reissue is a descendent of the original Gibson J-45. Coming together with reverence and authenticity, the Epiphone 1942 Banner J-45 Reissue captures so much of what makes the original J-45 an icon. How this all starts is with the J-45 dreadnought-style body assembled with a thermally aged solid spruce top. A knockout way to impart some simulated age and lived-in tone, the heat treatment process results in a tonal profile and look usually only reserved for much older guitars. The aged spruce is matched with a solid mahogany back and sides and a scalloped X-Brace bracing pattern. Totally, this J-45 plays with that same inspirational tone you've come to know.

Tone is not the only thing Epiphone has authentically translated with this Inspired by Gibson Custom model. Playability is brought on by the model's one-piece mahogany neck. This neck, assuming a classic V profile shape, gives a full yet sleek feel in hand. An Indian rosewood fingerboard joins in at this time with nineteen frets and Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays. Making for a fluid and responsive playing experience at every register, this Epiphone J-45 is a dream to play with every feature compiled.

From there, the 1942 Banner J-45 Reissue compounds upon its experience with several features for playability and intonation. At the world-famous Gibson "open book"-style headstock, a bone nut and a set of open-back tuning machine align for easy stringing and stability at one end of the scale. Following the scale to its opposite end, a rosewood Rectangle bridge with a compensated bone saddle lands to ground strings stably with improved intonation. An L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC electronics system appears on this model for seamlessly bringing the guitar's classic tones to the studio or stage. Finally, a Red Line-inspired hardshell case comes included for safe storage and easy travels.

As much of a classic Gibson model as any of their electrics, the J-45 receives a honorable and authentic revival from Epiphone. All this years later and "The Workhorse" is still in business.

Pretty funny
Format: Hardcover
The book gives us a more focused outlook on Chieg Wiggum. Full of its funny moments, I`d recomend this to huge Simpsons fans as it seems the shows writers managed to give us another hit.

Not the best, but not the worst either
Format: Hardcover
By any means not the funniest book in the series, only the one on Krusty the Clown was more un-funny; but still a worthy addition to your collection and, just like all the others from the series providing a retrospective of anecdotes you might have forgotten.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.

Good for my collection.
Format: Hardcover
This was another quick and entertaining read. This instalment wasn't as enjoyable as some of the other books but it was still good. I'm glad to have it in my collection.
